Actor Sonal Sehgal is the latest to join the bandwagon of actors, who are learning to play guitar
There is a growing trend among Bollywood actors these days — that is to take up playing the guitar. With several characters in various films being portrayed as rockstars, playing guitar has suddenly become an integral part of acting. First it was actor Katrina Kaif who took guitar lessons from her co-star Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar for her rock chic role in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Then there's actor Ranbir Kapoor who learnt to strum a guitar, for his role in Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film Rockstar to make his character more convincing. And now it's actor Sonal Sehgal who's learning to strum the guitar for her role in Damadamm, opposite Himesh Reshammiya.
And for Sonal it's a dream come true. "Since my childhood, I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but never really managed to do so. Somehow I never got the time to learn it," she says. Thanks to her character in the film, the actor finally decided to fulfill her life-long dream. She reveals, "This year I have finally decided to do everything on my Bucket List. What if the world really ends in 2012? So, finally I have started taking guitar lessons."
Just like Katrina, who even tried out her hand on the six-string along with some basic chords and the octave, Sonal seems to leave no stone unturned as well. So much so, that she even ended up hurting her fingers while learning to play the guitar.
