Dussera's a day that celebrates the triumph of good over evil and marks an auspicious beginning of all things good. And for actor Shilpa Shetty-Kundra the day is even more special. "There are far too many fond memories associated with the day, to recall only one," she shares. As is the tradition, the actor reveals that there will be all the celebrations in the Kundra household. "I will be putting up the torans outside the house and on all the new purchases," she says. "I recall mom putting up these torans made up of marigold, mango leaves and rice or jowar hangings. This time I will be doing all of it, then there're going to be the special preparations in the kitchen including kheer," she smiles.
Talking about the relevance of the day today, Shilpa feels that it's a day that reinstates faith in goodness. "This year especially, we've seen how Anna has defeated the Ravan of corruption, so it's a day that's as relevant today as it was years ago. Just the faces of evil differ, but I strongly believe in the good conquering all evil. Why, almost all our Bollywood films are all about this too na, aren't they?"
As for her own plans for the day, Shilpa reveals that "today I'm just soaking in all the time, I'm getting to spend with Raj at home." "But yes, there will be the puja in the morning and then catching up with friends and families, though no party is planned as of now," says Shilpa who has been busy the past few weeks with her film Desire being screened at various international film festivals. "It's one of the most auspicious days and that's why we are even kickstarting our new endeavour today," she reveals about her new venture in online real estate. "It might just mark an auspicious start for so many others too who are planning to buy houses. So, in a way, it's really about spreading a cheer too."
