Actor Ranbir Kapoor seems to be following Katrina Kaif's footsteps to hunt for talent online
The promoters might be touting it as something happening for the first time but here is the truth. Ranbir Kapoor is doing exactly what Katrina Kaif had earlier this year (during March). It's just a 'ditto' for Ranbir.
Katrina was logging on to a social networking site to judge the best dance video on behalf of an airline. Now, Ranbir Kapoor will be doing the same thing but this time around, he will be selecting an actor.
But the best part is that both Katrina and Ranbir have released almost identical statements about the effort. Consider this funny, but here is Katrina's statement. "I am very excited to partner with (the company) and share my experience with Bollywood fans and aspiring dancers in this project, which hopes to attract and promote new talent."
Now Ranbir says, "I'm incredibly excited to be involved in this ground-breaking movie with (the company). no-one has attempted anything like this before. Speaking to all Bollywood fans out there, this is your once in a lifetime opportunity to join me in the magic of the movies. I'm looking forward to seeing your auditions and can't wait to meet my co-stars, so get dancing, get voting and get involved," Ranbir says in his statement.
Now, the similarities between the two doesn't end here, the format that the two are following also seem identical. In both cases the participants were asked to upload a video clip on the site and the they would view them on a particular date to determine the winner. The only difference seem to be the prizes – the finalist got a chance to win a dinner with Katrina. In Ranbir's case, the finalist will get a chance to produce a movie, choose its music, work on the wardrobe and name the characters.
