Come festive season, glam gals are flaunting the yellow metal in all forms
It's celebratory season. Seems like the current set of Bolly beauties have taken a leaf out of senior actor Rekha's book, as an increasing number of these actors have been seen sporting gold a la Madame Re. Whether it's as an accessory or sari or making a haute statement in heavily gold embellished designer wear, for these actors 'gold can never be old'. "Gold can never go out of fashion," says actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra, "It's very strongly connected with our tradition and besides, it's now even reteriarted that it's also the best investment," she smiles.
Ask fashion designer Ritu Kumar about gold making its presence felt among the glamouratti, she says the hue by itself complements Indian complexion. "The gold thread embroidery work will be the next big thing in fashion. It looks muted and if done correctly it doesn't look garish, but elegant. The sophisticated gold wedding attires are fast gaining popularity, dull gold jewellery or dull gold embroidery or patchwork on outfits will surely be the trend of this festive and bridal season."
