Cyndy Khojal made her film debut in Khiladi 786

Akshay’s Chinese aunt in Khiladi 786 is Assamese

    The name Cyndy Khojal might sound like she’s from Russia, but seeing her, you’d assume she’s from China, Japan or Korea. It does come as a surprise when she says that she’s actually from Guwahati, Assam. Cyndy made her film debut in Khiladi 786, where she plays Akshay Kumar’s Chinese aunt, married to his uncle (played by Mukesh Rishi). 

    Says Cyndy, “Director Ashish R Mohan had offered me the role about a year ago. I liked it and agreed to do it.” On her looks, she says, “A lot of people can’t believe I’m from Assam. I have a typical Oriental look, so I know I can be cast only in specific characters.” But that isn’t stopping this theatre actress and model from aiming high. Asked about the kind of films she’d like to do, she says, “Charlie’s Angels. I’ve always dreamt of doing something action-packed like that.” 

    The actress, who will next work in the play Death Of A Salesman with Alyque Padamsee, adds, “I’ve been in theatre for four-and-a-half years now. I discovered my interest in it after spending time with theatre biggies like Alyque and Dolly Thakore.”
