Oscar-winning director Danis Tanovic will be in India next week to start work on his Emraan Hashmi-starrer

Director Danis Tanovic, who won the Academy Award for his film No Man’s Land (2001), will arrive in India on December 15 to start pre-production work on his next film. His yet-untitled venture that is based in the Indian subcontinent and stars Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi in
the lead role will hit the floors next February. Though he is yet to finalise the female lead, Sonam Kapoor and Sonal Chauhan are considered for the role.
While a part of the movie may be filmed in the Indian side of Punjab, some will be shot in Sialkot, the Pakistan side of Punjab. A preliminary recce has already been conducted and a team is expected to head to
Pakistan to scout for locations there. While the storyline is kept under wraps, our source tells us that it will be modelled on the lines of Tanovic’s earlier work, and will probably focus on the theme of land and what it means to individuals.
