WHY THE SONU NIGAM-AVICII TRACK TOOK A YEAR TO CREATE!

Despite announcing their collaboration a year ago, the Indian singer and the world’s number 3 DJ waited 12 months to record the track and the video

Sonu Nigam and World No. 3 DJ Avicii announced a collaboration exactly a year ago but work on the track began only a couple of months back. Called Indian Levels, the track is a desi version of a chartbuster that sent Avicii aka Tim Bergling's brand soaring post its release last year.
Ask Avicii why he chose to collaborate with Sonu and he reveals, “His name was proposed to me. What I read of his achievements so far, impressed me. So I was like... sure, I
want to collaborate with such a
respected name!”
Why did it take so long to actually come up with the track? Says Sonu, “While Avicii and I did meet informally in Los Angeles earlier on, I sang for the track only a couple of months back. A lot has happened in between. I’ve been busy with work. Besides, my mother has been quite unwell, so it’s been difficult to cope. It’s been trying, testing times.” Avicii offers his own reasons, “Well, I was extremely busy on tour all through the year and so was Sonu with his commitments. So yes, it did
take a while to happen. But it’s been worth the wait.”
That said, more about the track and the video. Sonu has written the desi lyrics and will appear in the music video while the world number 3 DJ won’t. “Avicii, as you would know, doesn’t really appear in his videos. So this hot model named Lux and I shot in LA over five days.” Why doesn't Avicii star in videos to his tracks? The DJ says, “It’s really my management’s call. I go with their creative direction and so far it’s been great!”
Ask Avicii about his feelings on the Indian version and he replies, “I love it. That’s definitely the top one because it went completely away from what everyone else did and was really like interesting in the electronic dance music market, there’s nothing that sounds like it.”
