Desi movie producer’s pardesi plans
After producing short films for budding directors and many regional music albums, Parminder Kapoor is now in the middle of making his maiden feature, Patiala Dreamz. The film, being shot at Patiala, Chandigarh, Goa and Canada —where his family owns a well-equipped hospital — conveys an important social message.
Kapoor says, “Producing films is something I love the most. I always look forward to working with new talent, because they are full of energy and do full justice to the money spent.”
Featuring Sarvar Ahuja and Madrassa in lead roles, the movie’s soundtrack has been composed by Mika Singh, Sukhwinder, Ritu Pathak, Shahid Mallya and Javed Ali.
Kapoor, who’s shuttling between India and Canada, is pleased with the way his film is shaping up. He says, “While it’s a typical masaledaar Bollywood film, it also sends a significant social message. The proceeds of the film will go to an NGO in America.”
