A ROLLER-COASTER ROAD TRIP
The crux of the story of Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke is a two-hour journey that turns into a lifetime experience for two youngsters — Adah Sharma and Dev Goel. “We were quite clear when we made this film that we wanted it to reflect the crazy happenings around today’s youth,” says director Jyotin Goel. He takes a leaf out of his own book, “I think everyone has stories about road trips going wrong. When I was a youngster, I hitchhiked to Khandala in a truck cabin with 10 people, when it could only fit three!”
The film also has Juhi Chawla, Chunky Panday and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances and that added to the madness on the set. Says Dev. “Our script is nuts and to add to it, we had Chunky, Juhi and Sanjay around. Think of the mayhem that we caused. Once Chunky, as the Nepali Gurkha, was supposed to climb a ladder while chasing me. But he falls and his khukri (a type of knife) almost ended up in his butt!”
Adah too agrees about the pandemonium that took place. “I’m glad Juhi ma’am was there. Otherwise, these boys were just pulling my leg all the time.”
