Jenner Jose debuts with a film on America’s illegal Indian immigrants

Jenner Jose’s debut film Ooops a Desi that hit theatres yesterday, deals with the issue of illegal Indian immigrants in America, and the trial and tribulations they go through to survive in a foreign land.
Jenner says, “They are unable to approach authorities because their immigration status is invalid. At times, they decide to deal with the issue themselves, further worsening the situation. It is a topic that has never been dealt with before.”
The director feels that word of mouth publicity will help the film pick up. He explains, “Compared to films that have the backing of big
actors and top studios, independent cinema with newcomers always faces the challenge of getting prime shows and good theatres. However, I believe that a film with high production values and a good story line can overcome any challenge.”
Interestingly, Jose is an engineering graduate with a specialisation in Information Technology. Making movies, however, is his real passion. In the past, he has made short feature films like Mask Face and Crisscross. As for his future plans, Jenner says, “There is a project in the pipeline. Whether it will be a Hollywood or a Bollywood film will depend on the script and the target audience.”
