CELEB SPOTTING ON THE FRONT ROW
Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013 saw lesser showstoppers and, instead, had celebrities supporting their designer friends on the front row
The third day of the fashion week saw Indian fabric and designs. There were some stark trends noticeable, like the use of natural fabrics and moving to sheer blocking after colour and pattern blocking. Also, most designers chose to go without a showstopper. Instead, they had a celebrityfilled front row, sporting their designs that added to the ambience. Amit Aggarwal had Richa Chadda and Anushka Manchanda, Nupur Kanoi had Neha Dhupia, while Payal Khandwala had Adhuna Akhtar and Gauri Shinde rooting for her.
Anita Dongre’s Global Desi with LIVA collection highlighted boho chic. Says Anita, Creative Director — Global Desi, “Through this collection, we are celebrating the spirit of the bohemian woman and are evoking the spirit, energy and fashion sensibilities associated with music festivals all over the world. LIVA being a fluid fabric really has added that rhythm to the collection that is free-flowing and youthful.”
KK Maheshwari, Business Director, Pulp & Fibre Business, Aditya Birla Group, says, “Our fabric imparts softness and flow to all garments and Anita really understands this unique fashion value and has been creating garments with very interesting cuts and styles.” Added showstopper Aditi Rao Hydari, “I am so happy to be associated with Anita’s brand. My outfit is so fabulous; it breathes and gives you a sense of freedom.”
The LIVA collection by Global Desi, in collaboration with Aditya Birla Group, will be available across all Global Desi Exclusive and multi brand outlets shortly.
