MOOD FOR MASTI-BHARI MUSIC
The producers of Masti are geared up to get the people in the mood for Grand Masti with its music, just like the original Masti which features some nice tracks. Whether it was the mischievous title track or the spunky On The Roof In The Rain, or the soft romantic Dil De Diya Hai in the first film, the makers promise a good mix of songs in their upcoming sequel too, which releases on September 13.
While the title track is composed and sung by the talented duo, Sanjeev-Darshan, Zulmi and Tu Bhi Mood Mein are composed by veteran Anand Raj Anand.
Says director Indra Kumar, “There’s a specific thought behind each song and we’ve tried to retain a distinct flavour for each song. The title track is a modern day disco number, Zulmi is meant for street dancers and Tu Bhi Mood Mein reinvents the 1980’s in true Govinda style, setting the festive mood in every Ganpati procession this year.”
Mika has rendered Zulmi in his trademark style, while Wajid Khan has lent his voice to Tu Bhi Mood Mein.
Ashok Thakeria, who’s producing the film with Kumar, adds, “When we made Masti nine years ago, its music reflected the subtle and romantic feel of the film. Today’s youth is wild and more open, hence the songs of Grand Masti are composed keeping in mind the fun and dance element. While the title track is for the classes, the other two songs are totally for the masses.”
