Partied the night away?
Here’s how to soothe tired feet
While wearing stilettos with that fancy dress may make you feel a million bucks while partying, your feet and back take the maximum brunt of standing for hours in those high heels. Our feet go through the most wear and tear daily. And sadly, at times, remain the least cared for. Aching and swollen feet need some tender, loving care before they turn into muscle, tendon or ligament injuries. Other problems include foot odour, ingrown toenails, dry and cracked heels, corns and fungal infections. Here are some simple tips for relief from tired and swollen feet...
One of the quickest ways to give relief to tired feet is to dip them in a tub of cold water. This instantly revives aching feet by giving them a muchneeded jolt. Alternatively, you can even rub ice over your soles.
If you have more time on hand, add two tablespoons of sea salts in a bucket of warm water and relax as they ease tired feet.
Another simple trick is to lie down or sit and elevate your feet on a pillow for about 15 minutes.
If you have wooden rollers, use them on the soles of your feet. They increase circulation and help ease discomfort.
Take any scented herbal or aromatic oil and massage your feet with it for about 20 minutes. This helps reduce swelling.
One of the most effective ways to soothe tired and aching feet is to first dip your feet in a bucket of hot water for 15 minutes and then immediately put them in a bucket of cold water for 15 minutes. Repeat it a couple of times. While this might be slightly time consuming, it works wonders on your aching feet.
