Ever since reports have come out of actor Bipasha Basu doing an item number in Sanjay Gupta’s film Shootout At Wadala starring ex-boyfriend John Abraham, speculations are rife whether the actors will infact be seen sharing screen space, which will be a first since their break-up last year. But if buzz is to be believed, then it seems like before sharing screen space, the two might just be seen sharing the red carpet in Cannes this year. While Bipasha is expected to attend the international film festival there with her Singularity team, buzz is that John too may be headed there with his film Vicky Donor and also to showcase his other productions that will soon be underway. “There have been talks for some time now as several investors showed a keen interest in John’s production house, and those close to him felt that he should showcase his production house at Cannes,” reveals an insider. “John, too, seemed keen, and has been considering it though nothing has been finalised yet, as much depends on his shoot schedules. So it’s all very hush-hush for now,” adds the source. If it does work out for John, apparently, he and Bipasha will be at the festival around the same time. Incidentally, the last time the two had attended Cannes was together for their film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. “They are both known faces, so there will definitely be buzz there if the two get spotted at the same event. All eyes will be on them to see how they greet, if they do bump into each other. If they do, it’ll apparently be their first high profile public meeting since their split,” says an insider. While Bipasha has always maintained that she has no qualms in teaming up with the actor again on screen, John on the other hand has chosen to remain silent over his views on working with Bips. Which insiders say are hints that it’s not something that John may particularly be looking forward to. In fact, according to the film sources too, John is yet to give a nod to doing the number with Bipasha. And they may in fact not even be in it together, though the filmmakers are keen to pull off the coup.
