Vishal Bhardwaj, who is currently shooting Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola in Punjab

Being eco-friendly

Vishal Bhardwaj, who is currently shooting Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola in Punjab has apparently imposed some rules to keep the environment clean. “Nobody is allowed to smoke in the dhan ke khet where they are shooting as he has declared it a non-smoking area. The unit members including the cast have to walk a kilometer away from the fields to drag a puff. Also, Vishal is particular about not spoiling the environment by throwing plastic cups. He insists that they should have carry bags and dispose the cups in those. If they don’t adhere to the rules, the assistant whose job is to keep the sets clean, jokingly warns that he will not give water to people who commit the offense and that they will have to walk back to the base which is three kms away just to quench their thirst,” reveals a source. Even Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapoor who star in this edgy comedy are not spared. However, the entire cast and crew, which has been shooting there for over a month has been supportive, adds the source. The film is almost complete and only 10 days of the shoot is remaining. Co-produced by Vishal Bhardwaj Productions and Fox Star Studio, the film is slated to release by the end of this year. In fact, this is a big year for Vishal who has three films on the floors including Dedh Ishqiya, a co-production with Shermaroo and Daayan with Balaji.
