Doing something ordinary is not his style, be it the
cost of his films, his fees or his numerous fans. For superstar
Rajinikant, everything is on a massive scale. In his upcoming film
Kochadaiyaan, Rajini’s fans can get closer to their hero as it is being
shot in 3-D. It will be shot with similar technology used in James
Cameron’s Avatar. While speaking about his experience shooting with his
daughter and also the film’s director Soundarya R Ashwin, Rajinikant
says he was apprehensive at first. “This is entirely different from a
regular feature film and is tough because it requires a lot of
imagination. Also getting into the skin of the character using motion
technology is a challenge in itself. One needs to improvise and
visualize getting into the character without make up and costume which
is new for an old man like me,” says the cheerful actor.
On being
asked about being directed by younger daughter, the proud dad gleamed.
“At first, I was apprehensive that Soundarya will direct me and there
was this sort of fatherly feeling. But by the third day I realised that
it was just the director, that I was working with and not my daughter.”
The actor has also sung a song in the film, the music of which is being
composed by none other than music maestro A R Rahman. The big budget
period film will also see actors like Deepika Padukone, Shobana, and
Jackie Shroff amongst others.
