Ever since news of Karan Johar opting out of
co-producing the remake of Vettai has come out, there’ve also been
whispers of trouble brewing between the filmmaker and actor Shahid
Kapoor who was slated to play the lead. But according to a production
insider, these talks are all rumours. Apparently, Shahid himself was not
too happy with the script and had asked the production house to rework
on it. “Shahid had agreed to do the film only if he was convinced about
the script in the first place. People tend to jump to conclusions on
their own without knowing the actual thing. There’s no trouble between
Karan and Shahid,” says the source dismissing buzz of any bad blood
between the two. “The truth is that though the film has been shelved for
now, we are looking at reworking on the script. We haven’t given up on
the project,” reveals the insider. And if sources are to be believed,
Shahid will definitely play the lead too. “Everyone including Shahid
felt that the film’s script needed to be adapted to the sensibilities of
the Bollywood audience. It’s a good film and the production house
doesn’t want to completely drop it,” shares the source.
Shahid,
meanwhile, is not ready to rush into any project. “He has always been
choosey about his films, although there have been times when he did
films for friends. But he’d rather wait for a good script than just jump
into any film,” says another source. |
