Actor Sameera Reddy’s been through the gym grind and several other workout mantras in her bid to stay fit and slim. But the actor herself admits that what really worked the best in her favour was one of the most natural work-outs — swimming and that’s also the secret of her svelte figure that she’s been sporting of late. “I love swimming and I can easily vouch for it to be the most natural and complete workout for the body,” says Sameera.
Having tried several workout routines, the actor feels that while gym exercises only target a particular area of the body, swimming gives you the complete workout. Swearing by it to be the perfect weight-maintaining formula, Sameera reveals that while swimming in pools is the best option here, she prefers to swim in the sea when she visits her sister in Greece.
“You know, swimming in the sea is a completely different experience and the water there is so beautiful, that it’s almost a heavenly experience, while your body gets its dose of workout. Losing weight and indulging in these pleasures only happens with swimming,” she says, adding that she makes it a point to hit the pool here at least for an hour daily.
Sameera admits that diets too play a major role. But her mantra is not to give up eating, but eating right. “What I also believe is that apart from food and physical exercise, it’s very important to be mentally strong too. Well-being, mental, physical and spiritual is the key to overall health,” adds the Tezz actor. “So yoga, staying positive and happy are a must,” shares the fit actor.
