Piercing rage hots up with college kids
As you ditch your school uniform for college, it’s time to indulge in
some stylish trends. For instance, body piercing has become quite a rage
recently. “Ear and eyebrow piercing is a thing of the past. These days,
lower lip and tongue piercings are popular. Also, there is a craze for
tunnel piercing, which is an extension of ear piercing,” says Lokesh of
Devilz Tattooz.
“Actor Kareena Kapoor’s look in the song, Chammak Challo, where
she sports a nose stud, has also become a rage. Diamond and zircon studs
for nose piercings look very good and go with every outfit,” says
stylist Shival Ghai of Expressions Salon.

“Girls usually prefer navel piercing. The tongue area is a bit
risky because it needs proper after-care,” warns Chetan Salhotra of
Scorpio Tattoo Inn. “Taking care of studs becomes more important, given
the weather. Though there is a minor risk of skin infection, using
proper sterilisation and making sure the artiste wears gloves eliminates
this. A new needle should be used after every piercing.”
