Star Plus’s soon to air Lakhon Mein Ek will see the lead character of
its own show Pratigya as its anchor. Pooja Gor, who plays the title
character Pratigya, is excited about her anchoring debut, which will
replace Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate.
Pooja says, “Satyamev Jayate urged people to do something for
society. People are looking forward to something along the same lines
and we hope to match their expectations. I will play the sutradhar
(narrator) and introduce inspiring stories shown in a dramatised format
for our viewers. This opportunity will take the character, Pratigya,
beyond the show, as she supports justice and is known for standing up
for herself and society. The show has reallife stories about people
who’ve made a difference in others’ lives.”
Asked if she has issues hosting the show under a character name and not as herself, Pooja says, “Had it been a dance or singing reality show, then I would have insisted that I, Pooja Gor, host it and not my character, Pratigya. But here the content needed an anchor that people could connect with and Pratigya has already made a mark. So I had no issues.”
