The critics panned Ekta Kapoor’s production, Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum
(KSKHH). And the box office collections are nothing to write home about
either. The theatres were 60 per cent full on Friday, and managed to
collect R7 cr net on the first day from all over the country.
Distributor Sanjay Ghai of Mukta Arts says, “The film has been
made on a low budget and was collectively sold for R31 cr, and was sold
for R8 cr in Mumbai. While that’s great for the makers, it’s not been so
good for the distributors who bought the film, as neither are the
collections good, nor the reviews. While the lack of releases this week
and a certain appeal among youngsters (for its adult content) might pull
in some audiences, there isn’t much hope overall. This one will prove
to be an average grosser.”
In spite of its decent opening, the collections so far are not impressive, adds Sanjay. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “The film made R7.12 cr on Friday, R7 cr on Saturday but did better on Sunday with R8 cr (net collections all over India).”
