Trouble on the sets
Actor Akshay Khiladi Kumar choked while shooting on a burning set
A doctor was bought on emergency call, after actor Akshay Kumar complained of breathlessness on the film sets on Monday morning.
Though the star was finally not hospitalised, unit members, on the film sets, revealed that he did feel dizzy, while coming out from the sets. The incident happened at Goregaon Film City, where Akshay was shooting for his film Joker with newbie Sonakshi Sinha, who didn't suffer from any problem.
The doctor said that too much smoke had gotten into Akshay's lungs causing him to choke for a brief moment.
"It was a burning set (a colloquial term for sets where fire is used as a prop to shoot stunt scenes) and Akshay had been shooting for the past five hours there. Moreover, it was a closed set and there had to be a stunt scene. So there were a number of rehearsals, takes and retakes which resulted in him inhaling a lot of smoke. By the time he finished shooting, he had already been on the closed sets for more than five hours. He choked the moment he stepped out of the closed space into an open space," says a unit member of UTV, the production house.
The doctor was called, but he ruled out hospitalisation and said that Akshay will be fine in a few hours. Two other crew members shooting with Akshay also fell sick in a similar fashion. Sonakshi, however, was fine!
