'House' that?

With the new season of Bigg Boss ready to kickstart soon, After Hrs checks out the house where the action's about to begin

As if the lives of the soon-to-be-inmates at the Bigg Boss house aren't colourful enough, this time around, the show producers have added generous doses of colour in the house as well. Almost a replica of a posh dollhouse, the walls and furniture are painted in bright hues of pinks, yellows and greens. Or on second thoughts, perhaps, the show-makers wanted to ensure that whether or not the inmates show their true colours, the house surely will.
In it's fifth season, the house — where the 14 inmates will be put up for more than 90 days — has been moved from Lonavala to Karjat, this time around. As one makes way through a very claustrophobic passage, one enters a huge living area with a kitchen right in the middle of the house. Considering most fights start or take place in the kitchen, the makers probably wanted it to be the central character of the house as well.
There are two bedrooms —one done in pink and other in green — with more double-beds than single ones. This seems to be another bid to add zing to the show right from the moment people enter the house. The 'captain' will be made to stay in a special room that's the only one that has an attached bathroom. Also the swimming pool, lounging area and gym are much smaller in size this time. The big change is the dinning area which is now outside the house. A new addition is the zorb-shaped dome where the head of the house can have conversations in complete privacy. The confession room too has been done up differently and has a rather sinister feel to it.
Overall, as compared to the last time around, the house feels more like a set, and a bit cramped, despite being spread over 16,000 sq feet. The fake grass seems as unreal as some of the people who turned up in the house in the last four seasons. And to keep inmates from running away, the walls have been fitted with electric fencing. Of course, this is where the first season was shot, before the house was shifted to Lonavala and though the locals may not expect action outside the house, there's promising to be enough in this house for sure
