Khallas babe's back!
Actor Eesha Koppikhar talks about her comeback on TV and her attraction for dance reality shows
Riding high on her critically-acclaimed performance in her latest film Shabri, actor Eesha Koppikhar is now all set for a new challenge. She is making her comeback to TV, as a judge in the Marathi dance reality show Khallas Dance Ekach Chance. Incidentally, her first brush with television was when she had judged another dance reality show Nach Baliye 3 in 2007. Talking about making her foray in Marathi television she says, "I have always had offers coming from the Marathi industry and dance is something that excites me. Also I feel reality TV is really big and being a Maharashtrian I owe something to the Marathi industry. After all I have achieved everything here in Maharashtra."
Comparing Nach Baliye with Khallas Dance Ekach Chance, Eesha says, "Nach Baliye had celebrities; whereas the main crux of Khallas Dance Ekach Chance is about sourcing real talent that needs a platform to showcase itself."
About her switch to television again, Eesha explains, "I have always been getting reality show offers, but my films have kept me busy. Now that I'm through with Shabri, I thought what better way to keep in touch with my fans than television. Further more, I love the feel and energy of judging a reality show. The contestants are just so talented and full of enthusiasm. It gives me a different high to be on stage and judge the contestants. The spontaneity of television is addictive."
Inspite of getting some interesting film offers, Eesha chose to go with her love for dance reality shows. "I'm getting some really interesting work. After Shabri, I wanted roles of substance and not characters that needed me to be a mere prop. Actually, I'm on the verge of signing a new film but I can't talk about it now, until the official announcement is made," Eesha adds.
