Actor Akshay Kumar faces Bolly fans' ire for his guest, comedian Russell Peters' remarks against their idols
Fans of actors Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Aamir Khan are reportedly up in arms against actor Akshay Kumar for failing to rein in Indo-Canadian comedian Russel Peters who has gone ahead and allegedly 'insulted' them.
Peters apparently does not hide his distaste for Bollywood. He once again raked up a hornet's nest when he called Aamir 'a d***khead' and then went on to make derogatory remarks about Aishwarya.
Sources confirmed that both Abhishek and Aishwarya are extremely upset with Akshay for not doing any damage control as the alleged remarks were made by Russell during the promotion of Akshay's production that released today.
Sources also say that a few complaints have reached the National Commission for Women, who are enquiring about the matter. A few fan forums have also initiated a move to boycott the film which is currently in the theatres as it stars Russell.
"Aishwarya is extremely upset about the remarks made by Russell. He made a direct attack on her. Calling her a horrible actress is one thing, but how can you make fun of her as a mother? Now, how can Akshay not react to such a remark? Akshay has always been a family friend of Aishwarya. She recently did a movie with him too (Action Replay). Her fans have urged everybody to boycott the movie because that is what everybody thinks the comments were made for," says a source. Interestingly, Akshay is also playing host to Russell in Mumbai. Although Aamir hasn't made his displeasure known yet, but sources say that he too was shocked to hear what Akshay's guest had to say about him.
