Flaunting their men-o-ciation
Tinselville's hotties seem to be in the firing line now for daring to display their sugar daddies
B-Towners believe in wearing their 'connections' on their sleeve, but more recently these most-talked about associations seem to have actually backfired on some B-Town stars for going overboard in flaunting their friendships.
While actor Kangna Ranaut falling out of favour with her once-good friends actors Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt is now out in the open, hushed whispers doing the rounds in the film industry claim that actor Priyanka Chopra trying to get over-pally with actor Shah Rukh Khan has not gone down too well with the star's friend circle either. According to reports, the actor is being cold-shouldered by the Badshah's coterie, which might also affect her future films. Incidentally, newbie Sonakshi proclaiming herself to being Salman Khan's blue-eyed-girl in the circles too hasn't apparently been much appreciated neither by him, nor his other protegees, especially when her Team took on Salman's good friend, actor Katrina Kaif to up her brand value.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh explains, "Usually, these relationships are symbiotic in nature. The bigger star won't complain of having some interesting names in their camp, while the other actor can always be assured of an access to the other biggies in the industry courtesy the star. It's nothing to do with talent."
Another industry insider reveals that so long as these friendships don't affect the star directly, they don't mind anyone being a part of their camp. "But when it starts creating bad blood between the rest and affects the personal equations with families too, it's then that the stars start cutting lines. It's often happened that names have been taken advantage of, projects jeopardised and films lost," says the insider.
Not wanting to name the actor, another film veteran says, "Which wife will like another woman talking about her husband, giving out details that she's not aware of and bragging about how pally they are? While many choose to look the other way about what goes on, on the sets, they won't take that on-set camaraderie enter the domain of their own homes and go to great lengths to make sure that the sentiment is conveyed."
