'Kickboxing is fun'
Actor Sayali Bhagat talks about her fitness regime and how she loves healthy eating
Actor Sayali Bhagat is not much of a gym person mainly because she thinks it can get monotonous at times. However, she swears by her well-planned eating habits and a healthy lifestyle, which, she asserts, includes taking proper eight hours of sleep and making sure your body gets all the essential nutrients.
"I have lost five kilos in the last two months," says Sayali. And she asserts that gym did not have much contribution to this miraculous weight loss. "I have recently taken to kick boxing… and I am totally loving it," she elaborates.
"I started taking kickboxing classes for my upcoming movie. There are a couple of scenes that require me to perform martial arts and therefore the kickboxing classes came as the preparation ground. It was incredible that it helped me tone up and how! I like it because it's a mix of boxing and karate… I can even use it as a weapon (laughs)."
Apart from her new-found love for kickboxing, Sayali enjoys doing meditation and yoga as well. "I love yoga and meditation to the core, and can spend hours in a spa. But kickboxing has become my passion. It's so much fun!" she asserts.
A vegetarian, Sayali enjoys her staple breakfast of a toast sandwhich together with a glass of milk and a lunch that comprises of one chapati and sabzi. "And between breakfast and lunch, I munch on apples if I'm starving. And for dinner, I go for soups. I prefer salads and juices if I'm eating out. Apples are my favourites." However, her Saturdays and Sundays are devoted to partying with her sister and binging on kebabs.
Not much of a foodie, Sayali's only indulgence, once in a while, is the street side vada pav and frankies.
