The latest tactic, it seems, is to leak a few crucial scenes on the internet and then making a big hue and cry of it, by crying foul. Some allege that actor Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film, Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar might be the latest film to have incorporated this unique marketing strategy in its promotions. The scene that seems to have leaked out is a steamy kiss between the lead pair in Rockstar — Ranbir and Nargis.
The film, scheduled to release early next month, is yet to embark on a full-scale promotions. But the official trailer released a couple of days back has, however, been garnering great attention from the industry.
Meanwhile, snapshots of a passionate kiss that Ranbir shares with his debutante co-star Nargis Fakhri in the film are doing the rounds on the internet. Is it sheer coincidence that the kiss pictures have been leaked online at a time when the first trailer was launched? A source from the industry says, "Ranbir and his co-star, half Czech — half-Pakistani Nargis share sizzling chemistry. They were linked even while shooting for the film. While a lot has been written about them, no one had seen the rushes. The producers have obviously played very smart and cashed in on the very fact that people want to know about them. It will provide the much needed publicity to the project and people involved".
We would like to believe that the pictures circulating on the net were leaked and not 'leaked out smartly', but our guess is as good as yours.
