With Raanjhana, actor Sonam Kapoor gets into the skin of her character like never before . The fashionista who creates waves on the ramp and is extremely conscious about her image, has shed that to get into the skin of her character —that of a 17 year-old school girl.
Sonam has been spending most of her time in Varanasi lately shooting for Raanjhana in which she plays a school girl. A source close to her informs, “To prepare for her role, she used to visit a local girls school in Varanasi for some time. She went there to do character study for her challenging role opposite South star Dhanush. Sonam would observe them carefully, the way they would walk, giggle, interact and all other mannerisms. She even made friends there with a bunch of girls. She used to visit the school every alternate day and interact with the kids there to prepare for her role.”
Method acting has nowadays become an important part in actor’s career. And Sonam took it seriously, and stationed herself at the school to make her character a perfect fit. “She got along really well with the kids and would often sit with them and talk to those girls about their schedule. The girls used to chat with Sonam for long and at times even ask for some fashion tips. And going by her get-up one will be amazed at how flawless she looks and behaves.”
The actor also stepped out in full support of the Breast cancer awareness day last Friday, by wearing a pink dress. She said, “I wore pink to work on October 19 to support the cause of breast cancer awareness. I would like to urge everyone to do the same. We believe that a small step like this can help us create a nationwide movement.”
