When Reema almost gave Aamir a scare

For the music launch of Talaash, the production team recreated the fictitious Hotel Lido where Kareena Kapoor’s character works in the film, complete with a red backdrop and red lights. Aamir Khan and his co-producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, screened the trailer of their film before unveiling the music. Talking about Kareena’s absence at the event, Aamir quipped, “This could be the first instance in the history of our industry when a film’s team is happy that the principal star is not present,” and wished Bebo and Saif Ali Khan a blissful married life. When pointed out that his other co-star, Rani Mukerji played his fan in her last release and also kissed one of his many posters, Aamir appeared oblivious. “Really? I didn’t know.” But Rani maintained that she had told him about it and that he might have forgotten. When director Reema Katgi began to answer a question on the trigger point in her film, she almost scared Aamir, who thought she’d give the suspense away. But what little Reema said was, “It’s based on an urban legend. Once Zoya Akhtar, who has co-scripted the film, was returning from a party late night and something happened.” Reema’s first choice for leading man’s role of Inspector Shekhawat was Shah Rukh Khan. However, Reema refused to answer questions on SRK, saying, “We are here to talk about things that have worked out, not those that didn’t.” And, Aamir all together denied having any knowledge of SRK being approached for that role. Also present were composer Ram Sampat and his wife and singer Sona Mohapatra. The film, produced by Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions, releases on November 30.

Rani answered it with, “Talaash abhi jaari hai.” Aamir’s current good friend Salman Khan’s marriage plans were also discussed. “Karan Johar showed Salman an album of girls to choose from. Par unko ek aur album dikhana padega. Salman meri bhi nahin sunte. Kya karun?” joked Aamir.
