Contrary to recent reports of producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s next Chithiyan being based on his own life, we have got to know that this is far from the truth. The film is not based on his life, and according to sources close to Vinod, it is simply a baseless rumour. Though Vinod was unavailable for comment, since he is out of the country, his spokesperson says, “It’s not true at all. Chithiyan is based on an army officer and another air force pilot. Sudhir Mishra and Vinod Chopra are filmmakers. How can it be inspired from their life? It’s completely false.” The reports that were doing the rounds were that Chithiyan is based on Vinod’s life. It also stated that the film would focus on Vinod’s first wife late Renu Saluja’s life and her dynamics with director Sudhir Mishra. A source close to Chopra reveals, “Chithiyan is a love story. One of the lead has been locked which is actor Sharman Joshi. Chopra is looking out for fresh faces for the other hero and the girl. The film is been directed by Tanuja Chandra.”
