The hunt begins or ends?
The pursuit of dream roles or partners in Bollywood fans a lot of speculation; here is what a few A-listers had to say about their plans
Having experimented with several roles and genres, what are the actors looking out for now? Are the singletons in Bollywood taking too long in their quest to find their soul mates? When will the hunt end and with what consequence; this was the subject of much conjecture at the music launch of Talaash recently.
Aamir Khan was asked that after essaying myriad roles right from a carefree youth in Rangeela to a thought-provoking role of a teacher in Taare Zameen Par, what roles would he aspire to do in future? Having returned from Chicago from the shooting of Dhoom 3, he answered, “I don’t seek to do certain roles. I would rather mould myself to the character that the script-writer is trying to sketch on screen. All I try is to give life to the director’s vision than be rigid about what I want from my future roles.”
Rani Mukerji, who looked resplendent in a sari prior to Durga Pooja festivities, was quite tight lipped about divulging her search for a dream man. When prodded, she said with a hint of irony, “When I will tie the knot, you will be the first ones to know!” Kareena Kapoor, who plays the role of a commercial sex worker in the film, was absent post her wedding to Saif Ali Khan. “For the first time we are happy at someone’s absence and wish her all the best,”quipped Aamir Khan with a smile.
The future plans of Salman Khan, who has evaded matrimony for the longest, were also under scrutiny. When someone light-heartedly suggested that Aamir should present Salman with a photo album of prospective brides, Aamir replied, “One album would be too less for him!”
