STRANGE SHOOT STORIES

Director Ayush Raina recalls spooky incidents that occurred during the shoot of Vikram Bhatt production, Horror Story at an isolated suburban Mumbai hotel

RED LIGHT IN ROOM “Most of the shooting took place in the night on the third floor of the hotel. Between shots, my actors Karan Kundra, Hassan Zaidi and Ravish Desai would take off in an adventurous mood to explore the rooms. During one of their explorations, they saw this red light beaming from one of the rooms despite there being no electricity. When they walked towards it, the door slammed with a bang. Guess that was enough for them to stay put on the shooting floor. Their trips came to a halt.”
PITCH DARK FLOOR “Nandini Vaid always felt scared about
using the lift. To allay her fears, Hassan agreed to accompany her. Strangely, the lift never stopped on the third floor, but on the fifth floor. When the doors slid open, their faces turned pale as what greeted them was nothing but pitch darkness. They quickly pressed the third floor button but the incident left them freaked out. The other bizarre occurrence was Radhika Menon's mishaps. She kept falling and injuring herself so much so that someone always had to be with her.”
SCARY ECHOES “Since the hotel was isolated and the floors were in an abandoned state even speaking in a low voice used to get
magnified in an echo. It felt like there were other voices talking back to us as it echoed in a scary manner.”
ENTITY’S STARE TACTICS “The entity kept a distance from everyone but there were some instances when the entity would just land up among the rest of the characters. We suddenly found the entity among us, scaring the cast. Imagine their shock while chatting with each other and suddenly turning around to find the entity staring at them.”
Horror Story, produced by ASA Productions and Enterprises Pvt Ltd,
releases September 13.
