Will Phata Poster Nikhla Hero recreate the magic of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani?
Shahid Kapoor’s next Phata Poster Nikhla Hero sees producer Ramesh Taurani and director Rajkumar Santoshi reuniting after their last successful venture together. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif was a box office hit four years ago.
Shahid, who is paired opposite Ileana D’Cruz in this comic caper, plays Vishwas, a simple guy who dreams of becoming a movie hero. As he begins his journey to stardom, he meets a girl who turns everything upside down, leading to complications. Santoshi says, “I wanted to do a film that would have my audience rolling off their seats with laughter, as that is the kind of cinema I personally enjoy. Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is a wholesome family entertainer with something for everyone.”
Talking about his association with Santoshi, Taurani says, “Very few directors have the knack of executing slapstick and over-the-top comedies. However, Raj is gifted in that genre. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed doing this film and we hope to repeat the magic of our earlier film outing.”
Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, produced by Ramesh Taurani, releases September 20.
