The nath makes a style statement

   Ever since Sonam Kapoor and Vidya Balan’s desi statement at Cannes a few months ago, we’ve spotted the nath making sporadic appearances. But, in the past couple of weeks, the sightings have become increasingly frequent, especially so at the fashion week, which concluded in the city a few weeks ago.
With the festive season kick-starting in the city, we suggest you too take some tips from these appearances and sport the nath in style. Take cue from Juhi Chawla and pair your nath with small, but ornate earrings and minimal makeup. Juhi’s very Marathi bindi also adds the right bit of desi touch to her look. If you are looking for something for impactful, go the Sonam way and complement a jadau nath with bold, red lips — the beauty mantra for this festive season.
You can also add a nath to an Indo-Western look like Vishakha Singh (on the right) — just avoid any other accessories and let the nose ring be the only piece of jewellery accentuating the look. Choosing a nose ring size that complements your face is extremely important. Do not choose one that goes all the way to your lips as it will keep interfering as you speak, making you look extremely clumsy.
