‘HORSE RIDING HAS TIGHTENED MY BUTT’
...says actress model Sofia Hayat as she shares her fitness mantras
MY EXERCISE REGIME Every week, I go horse riding thrice, do core stability training twice, and practise yoga once. And, if I am not too tired, I throw in a 40-minute cardio session on the cross-trainer as well. I have been training in horse riding for two months. It is excellent for tightening the lower body, especially the butt. In the UK, I was a keen fencer. I had to learn sword-fighting for an action film. It is also a great butt, leg and ab workout.
MY DIET It’s not easy for me to maintain a flat tummy. I have to be careful about my diet. I avoid too much of carbs — for example, bread, pasta, and chocolate. The only trouble is, chocolate is my weakness. Alcohol is also a big no if you want a flat stomach.
MY STRENGTHS My legs and butt are very strong from riding and years of running, lunges, squats and cross-training.
MY WEAKNESS I don’t have one, because I have worked on all my weak points.
MY IDOLS Every person has a different body, and I find that attractive. Monica Bellucci has one of the hottest bodies around, yet she is curvy. In Bollywood, it is Hrithik Roshan. He is tall, supple, toned, and natural. Many people take steroids these days, but it’s a big turn-off for me.
MY MANTRA If you aim to hit the gym daily, you might end up going there at least four times a week. No matter how tired you feel before a workout, you will always feel amazing after it!
