Himesh: the juggler
The composer-singer-actor is back to multi-tasking in his next film
Without making much noise this time around, Himesh Reshammiya has won himself another hit with the music of Bodyguard. And what's more, his next film, Damadamm is ready to clash head-on with actor Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One this Diwali.
Of course, the composer-singer-actor is determined to go all out for Damadamm considering his last few releases are quite forgettable. Be it Radio, Karzzz or Kajraare, Himesh is yet to gain a strong foothold at the box office as far as his acting is concerned. A source from the production unit says, "To counter SRK's Chhammak Chhallo, Himesh has come up with a chartbuster, Umrao Jaan. Moreover, he makes a comeback to singing with the number." As far as the clash goes, Himesh chooses a diplomatic stand and says, "Ra.One is the biggest film of the year and I am enjoying the promos, but there is always room for a good romantic comedy during the festive season. Damadamm has a very Hrishikesh Mukherjee type of feel to it and the audience will enjoy every bit of it."
Rubbishing critics, the singer has quite a track record of hit numbers and is hoping Umrao Jaan too is another hit. "My music in Bodyguard is topping the charts and is being appreciated all over. Of course, it's very encouraging, considering people are getting to hear my compositions after quite some time. In fact, the song Teri Meri Prem Kahani is the highest downloaded song in Asia as announced by BBC," he informs, adding, "And similarly, I am sure that the music of Damadamm will be a bestseller."
