Ten years since the 9/11 terror attacks, we take a look at the films that've since been made in Bollywood, based on the incident and on global terrorism

Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota (2006)
This crtically-acclaimed film is directed by Naseeruddin Shah and stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Ayesha Takia, Jimmy Shergill, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Saroj Khan and Irfan Khan. It explores four different stories that intertwine as all the lead characters end up traveling to the US in the ill-fated flights that crashed into the Twin Towers and Pentagon on 9/11.

Kabul Express (2006)
This film traces the experiences of two Indian journalists who are sent into post Taliban Afghanistan to report on what life is like in the country following the US Invasion of the country in September 2001. Starring John Abraham and Arshad Warsi, it was directed by Kabir Khan.

Khuda Kay Liye (2007)
Directed by Pakistani filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor, the film looks into how terrorism affects lives across continents and highlights the sufferings of the people who continue to suffer in its aftermath. The film stars Shaan, Iman Ali, Fawad Afzal Khan, Hameed Sheikh and Naseeruddin Shah.

Hope and a little Sugar (2008)
Directed by Tanuja Chandra, the film is set in New York in the weeks before and after 9/11. Starring Anupam kher and Mahima Chaudhary, it highlights the hate and intolerance in the aftermath of the terror attacks.

Mission Istanbul (2008)
This Vivek Oberoi-Zayed Khan starrer sees the duo take on international terrorism. The film directed by Apoorva Lakhia failed to impress the audience, as well as the critics and was more of an action thriller rather than delving into the issue as such.

New York (2009)
This John Abraham-Katrina Kaif starrer revolves around a happily married couple in New York whose lives change when post 9/11 John is suspected of being a terrorist and arrested. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film also starred Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irfan Khan.

Kurbaan (2009)
This Rensil D'Silva film — that stars Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi — tackles global terrorism. Saif is a member of an underground organisation, whose aim is to instill fear by means of terrorism in the US to avenge the deaths of their kith and kin.

My Name is Khan (2010)
Directed by Karan Johar, the film is about the journey that Shah Rukh Khan undertakes, as he sets out on a mission to meet the president of US to prove that he is not a terrorist just because his name is Khan.

Tere Bin Laden (2010)
The film is a satire America's war against terror and the realities of the post-9/11 world and revolves around an ambitious young reporter, who, in his desperation to migrate to the US, makes a fake Osama bin Laden video using a look-alike, and sells it to TV channels. The film directed by Abhishek Sharma marked the debut of pakistani singer Ali Zafar in Bollywood.

I Am Singh (2011)
Being directed by Puneet Issar, this upcoming film takes a look at the discrimination Sikhs around the world have faced post 9/11 and stars Brooke Johnston, Gurinder Chahal and Tulip Joshi.
