Actor Shahid Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar apparently made actor Emraan Hashmi wait at an event till they arrived
Eyewitnesses reveal that actor Emraan Hashmi walked out of a recent awards function as he was made to wait for a little over 90 minutes for filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Shahid Kapoor, who were scheduled in the same segment together. Sources say that Hashmi walked away without even receiving his award, saying that he has an early morning shoot.
"Shahid and Emraan don't really have cordial relations. They are not enemies, but they are not friends either. Both of them are contemporaries, and in a way in the same space. But Emraan, perhaps, didn't like the fact that the organisers made it very clear that he will have to wait for Shahid and Karan to arrive," says a source.
Emraan, who was seated in the audience, waited patiently during the first hour watching the proceedings, but as the clock struck 10 pm, he started enquiring about the whereabouts of Shahid. He didn't know that he was waiting for Karan to arrive too. "He said that he follows a regimen for his shoots and wouldn't able to wait for long, but the organisers requested him to stay back saying that Shahid may arrive any moment. He was then told that Karan was also scheduled to arrive. He began to grow increasingly restless after that," the source added.
Shahid walked in around 10.30 pm and within minutes, Karan walked in too. "On seeing them, Emraan just got up to leave. The organisers rushed towards him saying that the awards will be given right away, but Emraan said that he had an early morning shoot the next day, and needed to go. He left soon after without receiving his award," the source adds.
Rumours abound that the relations between Shahid and Emraan worsened following the episode. "Emraan didn't like being asked to wait for so long. Also, it's possible that Shahid and Karan didn't know that Emraan was waiting for them for so long," adds the source.
