'I always wanted to be a heroine in films'
…says adult model Sunny Leone who made an entry in a reality show yesterday
She doesn't like to be called a porn star. Karen Malhotra popularly known as Sunny Leone who made an entry in the Bigg Boss house feels that her entry in the house will make Indian audience distinguish between prostitution and adult film industry in better light. She insists that Bollywood was her childhood dream and that she would love to work in films here. "Being an adult model happened to me by chance when I was studying to be a nurse. I always wanted to be a heroine in films but then I guess something else was planned for me. I have no regrets about my alter ego, Sunny Leone as I am here today only because of it," says the model.
Being born to Indian parents and brought up in a Punjabi household, she feels, it has only helped her in her career. She explains, "I am like any other regular girl. I too will be married and have kids, eventually. I am warm and nice to people as that is what we were taught while growing up by my parents. Also we were always told to give our 100 per cent in whatever job one takes up. These things also helped in my career as an adult star. Though, I will not deny that confronting my parents about my profession was the biggest challenge of my life. But luckily after the initial glitch they are supportive of my choice and I am very much in touch with all my relatives from both sides of the family. In fact I had recently come to Haridwar with them."
Though Sunny was offered a couple of Bollywood films, a few directors apparently, asked her for favours in return. She says one of the reasons fortaking up the show is to chase her childhood dream of getting into Bollywood. And her favourite actor in Bollywood is none other than the show's just returned host. "I watched Bodyguard recently and loved Salman in it. He is just too good. I hope to meet him soon and can only wish that I work with him some day," she adds.
