John zeroes in on his first production venture
The actor has decided to produce director Shoojit Sircar's next film, Vicky Donor
Actor John Abraham had recently joined the producer bandwagon in Bollywood, when he launched his own production company. Though he started with ad films, it was said that he will venture into feature films next year. But buzz is that John has already zeroed in on his first Bollywood production venture.
According to sources, the actor has decided to produce good friend Shoojit Sircar's next film project Vicky Donor. The film deals with the issue of sperm donation and stars actors Annu Kapoor, VJ Ayushmann Khurrana among others. "After producing some successful ad-films, John has taken a further step ahead and will now venture into commercial films. He wants to make cutting edge films with global appeal," the source says. This project will be Shoojit's second film after Yahaan (2005). The source adds, "Vicky Donor will be a joint production venture between John's production house and Shoojit's company."
John, however, will not feature in the movie. "John has decided to not be a part of his first home production. But John is leaving no stone unturned for the movie. Apparently, he has roped in technicians from Hollywood to be a part of the film. He is also taking a lot of interest in every aspect of the film as a producer. They will soon make a formal announcement regarding the same," the source reveals.
Apart from producing, the actor also has his hands full in promoting his upcoming film, and will be busy shooting for I, Me aur Main, Race 2 and Shootout at Wadala.
