Nicole to do item song?

Should Nicole Kidman get her asking price, she'll be the first Hollywood star to do an item number in a Bollywood film

Buzz is, it's just a matter of Rs five crore that could get Hollywood hottie Nicole Kidman to dance to Bollywood's tunes. According to sources, Nicole has finally green-lighted a proposal to do an item number in a Bollywood flick, but has asked for a huge appearance fee. Sources say that if filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey manages to give her the price that she's asking, then she could well be the first Hollywood star to do an item number in an Indian film. Till now, it's only been international popstars like Kylie Minogue and Tata Young who made appearances in Hindi films on their own songs.
"This item number was envisaged for the film Gali Gali Mein Chor Hain, which is being directed by Rumi Jaffrey, for which they wanted a Hollywood star. Nicole Kidman was contacted through her agents, and she immediately gave the nod. But she has quoted a hefty price, which is slightly higher than what Kylie had quoted for the number, Chiggy Wiggy that she sang in Blue," says a source. The film does not have an A-lister in it. With a starcast of Akshaye Khanna, Mugdha Godse and Shriya Saran in the lead, the budget of the film is not enormous. Sources say that another Bollywood producer is also vying for Nicole's date.
"There is another Bollywood producer who wants those dates, but Nicole is giving preference to Akshaye's film as they contacted her first," the source adds.
Nicole is not new to Bollywood. One of her earlier brushes with Bollywood was when a song Chamma Chamma was used as a background song for her film Moulin Rouge. Later she shot an commercial with Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and Slumdog Millionaire child actor Rubina Ali. Kidman has always maintained that she would love to dance to Bollywood numbers in her earlier interviews.
"The appearance fee is not much since top Bollywood male actors charge Rs five crore for an appearance. Mallika (Sherawat) was also rumoured to have been paid three crore for an item number. So it was after much consideration that Nicole arrived at the figure since the item number concept is unheard of in Hollywood. She's also ready to undergo weeks of training required for a Bollywood dance," adds the source.
