Actor Eesha Koppikhar is on a fundraising drive for her NGO that will financially support girl children

Actor Eesha Koppikhar will soon be organising a string of charity shows and concerts across the country to raise funds for her NGO. This coincides with her plan to launch the sequel of her acclaimed movie Shabri, which was in the cans for a long time before it's release this year. The NGO that Eesha has started focuses on the financial support of underpriviledged girl children in the country, especially in the metros. She also wants to campaign against female foeticide which is still a bane in the rural areas.
"I want to do something for the girl child. It's a very sad scenario in our country. Living in metros we probably don't understand the severity of the situation, but even today in 2011, the girl child is being killed. A couple of years back people would find out the sex of the child and go for abortions if it was a girl. This mentality has to change and if I can do my bit to bring about a change in the society, then I'm more than willing to," says the actor.
Eesha says that she knows that she would need a huge fund to run the NGO on a scale that she wants to and the actor wants to explore all the opportunities to ensure that she gets it. The actor says that she is leaving no stone unturned to get the required money. "Talks are on with a few people regarding the fundraising events and it's too early to confirm anything. But we are looking at doing shows and concerts in various cities to raise funds for this noble cause," she adds.
Sources close to the actor reveal that many event organisers have proposed to collaborate for the venture. "Eesha has been approached by many show organisers and some have even proposed for multi-city shows along with oversees concerts. Not only Eesha but also other celebrities from B-town have expressed their desire to be a part of the shows. Eesha also plans to promote her NGO via her films. She firmly believes that films create a long lasting impression on the minds of the people and hence she plans to promote the cause of the girl child in her films as well," says the source.
