Music and more!
Here's what to look for at the much-awaited music festival in Pune this weekend...
The much-awaited three-day long music festival, NH7 Weekender, kick starts today as the city of Pune breathes melody. An open air musical gala, the event is looked at as a one-of-its-kind festival that witnesses a mix of raw and established talents as the eclectic mix of artistes churn out some soul-stirring music live on the six stages. Grammy winner Imogen Heap and the British electronic music duo Basement Jaxx are a part of the dazzling line up. Indian bands and artistes like Midival Punditz, Raghu Dixit, Jalebee Cartel, Indian Ocean, Swarathma are also a part of the fest.
"Overwhelmed by last year's response, participation and support, we bring you another unforgettable year at NH7, where acclaimed international and home grown talent will come together for stellar music performances," says Arvind Krishnan, of the organising committee.
"Our ambition was never to follow the model of any other event or create the 'biggest' or 'largest' music festival. It's about creating an experience that people will perhaps remember as the happiest festival and look forward to." He adds, "We believe that can only be created by bringing together artistes from all genres, fans from across the world and bringing to life an all-inclusive festival that is about the artistes who play, fans who attend and the people who produce it," says Vijay Nair, CEO of a digital music company that's also a core part of the musical event.
Apart from music, there's much more in store for you here — Tattoo republic (organised by celebrity tattoo artist Sameer Patange), The Weekender Bazaar and the flea market. So are you heading to Pune this weekend?
